About me
I am an accredited registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and have the training and experience to help you explore issues which may be affecting your well-being.
Every person’s life experience is unique, and we can sometimes find ourselves in places where it’s difficult to deal with these experiences. Work-related stress, anxiety, depression, lack of self- worth, bullying, anger, loss, trauma, childhood issues, relationships are just some of the things which may be affecting us.
I offer a safe, supportive, non-judgemental and confidential space in which to work through the issues that are affecting you. These issues may be long-standing ones (e.g. childhood abuse), or they may be relatively new ones (e.g. work-related stress) … but no matter what they are, part of my role as a counsellor and therapist is to listen to you, hear you, and help you to deal with them in a way that’s appropriate to you. We will work together to develop your resilience and ability to bring about change and personal growth – and as these changes begin to happen, support you in moving forward with your life.
I am qualified to work in a number of therapeutic approaches, and can effectively tailor our sessions to meet your individual needs. For example, I am a qualified Therapeutic Life Coach, so have the skills to help you make positive changes to your lifestyle. I have over 1000 hours of counselling experience, working in GP Practice, Voluntary Sector and Private Practice. I am a Counselling Supervisor (supervising both qualified and student counsellors); I have worked as a Counsellor/Staff Support counsellor in the NHS and Employees Assistance Programme, and am a Heath Assured (EAP) affiliate and a BUPA, Aviva and AXA provider.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
