About me
I am a Registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and an experienced therapist working with adults, Children and Young People. I have worked in generic Community-based settings, the private sector and a Primary School setting. I also work with Employment Assistance Providers offering therapeutic support to their workforce and am a sessional Counsellor working with Tessa, an organisation offering therapy to adoptive parents. I am qualified to work with children and young people and have a special interest in working with Adolescents.
Deciding to get help can sometimes feel like a big step however, it can be an important first step on the journey of change. Counselling is like an investment in yourself and offers a way to gain perspective on your behaviour, emotions and relationships. It also provides a means of expressing your feelings in a non judgemental setting and helps identify patterns of thinking. I firmly believe in every adult, adolescent or child I work with and value them as individuals, offering counselling which reflects this. I provide a confidential, caring and safe 'space' to explore whatever issue has led to you seek counselling. I am experienced in working with a range of issues including relationship issues, loss and bereavement, self-harm, bullying, self-esteem, trauma and abuse including childhood sexual abuse, post traumatic stress disorder and anxiety and depression.
Sometimes even finding the right words to express the issues can be difficult and when appropriate I can also offer alternative therapies such as Sand Tray therapy and other creative therapy tools which can be used with adults as well as children and adolescents. I am qualified and experienced in working with Children and Young People and also hold a Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, an effective treatment for helping deal with anxiety and depression.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
