About me

I'm Elaine, a psychotherapeutic counsellor who works with 'psychodynamic and parts therapy' to help people learn to love themselves again; moving away from anxiety, self sabotage and negatively impacting relationships and into self acceptance, trust, belief and confidence.

The people I work with often come to me with an understanding of how their relationship to themselves is impacting them, but often at a complete loss of how to change it, they find their time is filled with the same ruminating negative thoughts, anxieties, and overwhelm and find themselves stuck trying to be someone they aren't; stuck in patterns of people pleasing, anxiety, hyper independence, crippling perfectionism, or avoidance that is holding them back from not only fulfilling their personal potential, but also impacting the relationships around them.

I also work with people experiencing:

  • Generalised Anxiety or panic disorder
  • OCD
  • PTSD or trauma recovery
  • Narcissistic abuse recovery
  • Phobias Managing stress, overwhelm or burnout
  • A difficult life event, such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or fertility journey
  • Self defeating behaviours
  • Lack of self worth or confidence Relationship conflicts or dating difficulties

Our experiences and our 'learned truth' as children, create our subconscious beliefs related to ourselves and how 'safe' it is to be wholly and truly ourselves. Our beliefs, which influence our thoughts and feelings, then create our(seemingly) automatic behaviours.. and a version of us that the people around us sees and responds to and this is my focus for therapy; getting to the root cause and the ' vulnerable (protected) parts' of you that need to be seen, heard and understood, to be able to find the curiosity and courage to explore the 'other (protector) parts' that are holding you back and create lasting change in your present life. All of this can be changed at any time, with the right support, which is where working with me can help.

I am ready to meet you wherever you are at, and create a safe, non judgemental and warm environment where you get to explore your inner world and create the changes you've wanted for so long.
