"Effective, nurturing, authentic therapy."
Hello, my name is Elaine and I offer effective and nurturing therapy to Individuals and Couples. I feel very humbled to have clients come to me and share their worlds in such an intimate, vulnerable and open way. In return, I create a safe, warm and professional space; I am curious, patient and will always work at your pace.
What my clients say:
" Our sessions always felt like we were working through these issues together in an open, honest and non-judgemental space and I found her focus on mindfulness and listening to my body more a really useful and grounding way through.”
"Elaine has a warm and patient approach that made me feel very safe to share things that have previously been too difficult to talk about. Elaine is welcoming, supportive and insightful"
I believe in working with my clients in a holistic way; Meaning – I think about what is contributing to your present day challenges, pain and distress from various perspectives, such as becoming curious about your thoughts, your emotions, your bodily sensations, your lifestyle, any past traumas, your relational and social interactions and your childhood.
My approach becomes tailored to each individual as I’m aware there are so many contributing factors which lead us to get stuck in life, to experience pain such as feeling low, sad, empty, addicted, anxious, restless, low self-worth, anger, issues in relationships.
I believe healing can come around when there is first and foremost safety established, followed by processing any trauma or hurt, becoming conscious, and lastly by integrating this into our present.
I always strive to keep clients safe within the work and I aim to provide an environment which feels warm, nurturing and one which allows clients to openly talk about what is troubling them.
I work with couples who begin to feel communication has become difficult or the relationship is no longer serving either one or both of the couples needs. When we meet a partner, we bring not only our current selves, but also our childhood selves. Different parts of us can become triggered or activated in relationship, leading to arguments, confusion and hurt feelings. It can become difficult to navigate at which point finding a professional to speak with may feel like a good option. I work with couples to help them communicate more effectively, to listen to each others needs and to also help couples take care of themselves within the relationship.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
