Eirini Perantoni MBACP, MA, BSc (Hons)
How I Work
My main focus is building a strong and empathic relationship with you, so we are able to explore all aspects of your self and your experience, and what they mean for you. Together, we can find ways to enhance your sense of well-being, and help you become your fuller self, whatever this might look like for you.
Oftentimes, individuals believe that their issue is not "worthy" of receiving the attention of the therapist, but this is never the case. I am here to offer you a safe, calm, confidential, non-judgmental space, and listen to whatever you want to bring into therapy, no matter how serious or benign you might be finding it. Certain issues that you might want to address in therapy include: anxiety, depression, chronic illness and pain, family and/or relationship issues, academic and/or work pressures and stress, as well as cultural and identity issues.
I offer open-ended, long-term psychotherapy and counselling, once a week for 50 minutes. The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and you to decide if you would like to work with me in the long-term. I can also work in a short-term basis (minimum 8 weeks), if you feel that you would prefer that and it suits the nature of your issue better.
Overall, I am very mindful of issues that might come up from either a chronic disability or condition, or an unexpected injury or accident, for you or your family/friends. Please feel free to let me know of any accessibility issues you might need help with, and I will do my best to accommodate them. Of course, besides the practical issues, I am here to help you deal with the emotional side of these difficulties, and what living with them might mean for your sense of self and well-being.
In addition, I am very aware of issues that might arise for you as a result of living in a multicultural environment such as London, especially if you or your family have come from a different country, or even town. Besides isolation and loneliness, you might be facing certain confusion in understanding the different cultural aspects that make up your identity. As a bilingual counsellor who holds dual citizenship, I feel that I am qualified to walk beside you in this experience, and help you make sense of it.
