I began my counselling training in 2002 and I qualified as a Councelling practitioner in 2006. Prior to qualifying as a counsellor. I was a children and families social work practitioner. Working in Child Protection. Adoption and Fostering. I have a wide and varied experiences, which affords me excellent communication skills.
I have enjoyed being involved with two charities and at the present I'm working as a consultant for a Mental Health charity. Offering Assessments. Generic counselling and more specialist Post Traumatic Stress Counsellng. I have also recently been involved in offering support through a Crisis Cafe to enable visitors to gain support needed when they are in need of support. My involvement with one charity has spanned a fifteen year period offering both individual face to face consultations and telephone consultations. This included individual and couple counselling.
I offer a confidential and safe counselling environment in which the client is able to relax and discuss any issues that may be causing them concern. This ensures a good and positive resolution.
I am a member of BACP and hold a full professional and public liability insurance.
I offer appointments to suit the clients needs which may be day time, evenings or Saturday appointments.
In the past I have been involved in a counselling capacity with a local prison, working on both the male and female wings. Plus providing Life Skills Training. Previously I have held contracts offering counselling to employees working for the local constabulary, Insurance companies and Travel Companies.
I also offer Bereavement counselling. I trained with Cruse Bereavement Counselling Services and offer a gentle and realistic approach and understanding of the grieving process to enable clients to have full insight into bereavement and the healing process.
I offer life skills training to individuals and companies. This training includes Self Esteem and Confidence Buililding. Anxiety Managerment. Condidence in the Workplace. Parents Apart.
I offer an electric approach to Counselling which enables me to tailor the counselling sessions to the individual needs off my clients. This gives the clients the opportunity to engage with the Counsellor to ensure the best possible outcome and support for them.
