Hello, I'm Eileen Fisher. I offer counselling and psychotherapy for both individuals and couples, as well as nutrition advice and nutritional counselling. I have 2 practices; Central Manchester and Wilmslow. I also offer Walking Therapy so we can work together outside.
Counselling & Psychotherapy
I think therapy is for people who have the self-awareness to recognise that they need a helping hand and that is something to be applauded. With counselling and psychotherapy positive changes in your relationships, work and life in general can take place, even when those challenges seem overwhelming, distressing and confusing. Get in touch now and take a positive step towards making changes in your life.
It can feel like a huge step when, as a couple, you make the choice to have some therapy sessions. Whatever the cause of your relationship problems the sooner you get help the better the chances of success. If you think that your relationship would benefit from seeing a therapist then make an appointment today. Couples counselling can strengthen your relationship and our goal would be to give you both insight and problem-solving skills. Together we will look at what's happening in your relationship, where your shared strengths and weaknesses are, as well as looking at your values around relationships. As a couple you will develop more effective ways of relating with each other so that communication skills and intimacy flourish.
Food and Eating Related Concerns
If you are struggling with issues around food and eating why not come and see me. Combining therapy and nutritional support is very effective and I have successfully worked with clients who have had disordered eating patterns and challenges with weight. Why not contact me to find out how we'd work together.
Nutritional counselling is my unique approach of combining therapeutic skills with nutritional knowledge. We can connect what you eat to how you feel; both physically and mentally and apply it to any health condition or health goal.
Come and walk with me and have your therapy sessions outside. Thinking and talking while we're walking outside can create a real rhythm and flow as we work together. It's a great alternative to office based sessions and there's more flexibility around locations.
Training, qualifications & experience
My principal training is in Transactional Analysis and I have a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling and a UKATA Diploma in Transactional Analysis Practice. I also have a Masters Degree in Nutrition and Health from MMU. I'm an ACT practitioner and I have a Certificate in Couples Counselling from the Leeds Centre of Psychological Development. I am a registered member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the UK Association of Transactional Analysis (UKATA).
My professional career began in scientific research and I then moved into education and health. I have worked for the NHS and the private health care sector and I now have a full time private practice.
I have a passion for working with people and I know first hand about the pressures of balancing a career with family life and the challenges that can bring. I am committed to good practice so I engage in regular supervision and attend regular training and seminars. I hold an enhanced DBS Certificate and I have professional insurance.
