If you are feeling stuck, anxious or depressed making the time in your week to come and talk about what's going on for you can make all the difference in the world. Positive changes in your life can take place even when those challenges seem overwhelming, distressing and confusing. Why not get in touch with me now and take a positive step towards making changes in your life. I offer counselling and psychotherapy, as well as nutrition advice and nutritional counselling.
I'm a qualified and experienced therapist with advanced training in Transactional Analysis (TA) Person Centered Counselling and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I'm also a qualified nutritionist. I work with individuals and couples and I offer a patient, friendly and open approach so that a positive therapeutic relationship can flourish.
Any issue that you would like to bring to therapy is welcome. Our first session is an opportunity to discuss your goals for therapy. In addition I'm a qualified nutritionist so I also work with people with food and eating issues and those who would like nutritional counselling.
Training, qualifications & experience
My principal training is in Transactional Analysis and I have a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling. I also have a Masters degree in Nutrition and Health from MMU. I'm an ACT practitioner and I have a Certificate in Couples Counselling from the Leeds Centre of Psychological Development. I am a registered member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their ethical framework.
My professional career began in scientific research and I then moved into education and health. I have worked for the NHS and the private health care sector and I now have a full time private practice.
I have a passion for working with people and I know first hand about the pressures of balancing a career with family life and the challenges that can bring. I am committed to good practice so I engage in regular supervision and attend regular training and seminars. I hold an enhanced DBS Certificate and I have professional insurance.
