Eeva Whybrow Reg. MBACP - Individual and Relationship Counsellor
Hello, and welcome to my profile page. My name is Eeva, and I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor. I run a busy private practice in Gamlingay, near Sandy (SG19), Baldock (SG7), and Friern Barnet, North London (N11).
My main goal in working with you in counselling is to establish a safe and trusting relationship. I am committed to listening to you and understanding the unique experiences you have gone through, and how these experiences have contributed to the person you are today. I am dedicated to creating opportunities for you to grow and change, to build confidence and self-esteem, and to develop self-awareness.
I believe I have the skills, empathy and authenticity that will allow you to transform yourself into the person you would like to be. Whether you are facing a particular fear or fears, dealing with various forms of trauma, struggling with anxiety, depression or addictions / dependencies, or experiencing conflict in your personal and professional relationships, I believe the therapeutic process we engage in can help you gain insight towards understanding and overcoming these crises and experiences, and help you move towards resolving them and feeling joyful and hopeful.
Choosing the right counsellor is vital because counselling can be challenging. Making the decision to go into counselling takes strength and conviction. It helps to have a counsellor you feel really understands you; someone you truly trust. I encourage people to interview more than one counsellor. It's a big step and it's worth it to find the right one. Because of this I offer a 30-minute consultation at no cost; this will give us both the chance to decide whether working together feels right.
I also provide relationship counselling. Being in a relationship can be hard work, and at times we all run into difficult situations. Relationship counselling isn't about you as individuals - it's about the space between you - the relationship. In couples counselling we work on the issues which are in that space.
I have recently started counselling service via Skype as well. This method allows you to stay at your own safe environment. You will need to have a relatively good internet service, and video and microphone connections. If you are interested in counselling via Skype, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or phone.
