About me

Hello and welcome! Thank you for viewing my profile.

Before I present my qualifications and professional experience, it is important to talk about us.

We will be exploring difficult and challenging situations together. Developing trust, confidence and love is the key to creating a secure and non-judgemental environment in which to explore difficulties that come to us in life. Allow me to help you; you do not have to fight this alone.

You may call me counsellor, psychotherapist or facilitator, but the most important thing is our relationship; we will be working together. Our work will focus on you and the struggles you are going through. Struggles which may have left a lasting impact on you; from anxiety, depression, fear or anger to guilt. You are not alone.

Come and share your emotional burden with me in a safe, discreet and supportive space. Do not allow your past experiences to enslave you in the present. You can re-create your life story!

May the light shine upon you.

In order to assist you even further, I work also with the following Health Insurances: AVIVA, AXA, BUPA, VITALITY_ I am here to help you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have BSc(Hons) in psychology, MA in psychotherapy and counselling. I am BACP(Accredited) and the director of Recreate Psychotherapy and Counselling. Having worked with adults (16+) and couples for 15 years in diverse settings such as the NHS, church and private practise, I have developed a wide breath of experience helping clients with a whole variety of problems. Depression, anxiety and fears are some of the effects of life’s adversity.  Some subjected to sexual abuse, others struggling with pornography , still others suffering with unacceptable loss of a loved one, loneliness or body image and rejection issues.

Research demonstrates that talking to an impartial, trained and experienced listener helps people improve their mental and physical health, restore relationships, granting them a healthier life style, and a brighter future.

I offer you a safe space, where your life story will be listened to with confidentiality and respect.
You can choose to have your session either in English or Portuguese.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
