I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist with a practice a few minutes walk from Oxford Circus Station. My consulting room offers a quiet and comfortable setting in which you can talk about and work through the issues that are troubling you.
I qualified as a Psychodynamic psychotherapist having completed a professional training at WPF Therapy, a highly regarded clinical and training institution based in London. I am a member of the UKCP and am bound by their Code of Professional Conduct and Ethical Principles. I adhere to strict guidelines regarding confidentiality.
About my approach
I work within the established framework of Psychodynamic psychotherapy and counselling. This means that there is an emphasis on you gaining new awareness of both the nature of your difficulties and your means of coping with them. You may find it useful to explore past or early experiences if you feel they have a bearing on your present problems.
The effort is towards you coming to terms with the difficult feelings and anxieties at the heart of your difficulties and undoing any entrenched ways of coping that may be keeping you stuck or repeating compulsive, possibly harmful patterns of thinking, feeling or behaviour.
The process, timescales and fees
If you wish to start therapy, we would meet for an initial consultation session. This will give you the opportunity to talk about the issues you wish to bring to therapy and ask any questions you may have about the process. I offer both short term time limited therapy (8 to 16 sessions) as well as longer term work and we can agree on the best course in the circumstances.
If at the initial meeting we agree to go forward and start, sessions will take place once a week at the same time each week. The length of each session is 50 minutes. My fee is £80 per session.
