Ebi Umoetuk, DIP BSc MSc MBACP. Integrative Counsellor
My name is Ebi, I am a qualified and experienced BACP registered counsellor/therapist working in the Bromley and West Wickham. I am warm and empathetic and aim to create a relaxed and safe environment where we can work together to enable you to enhance your life and live it more fully.
Welcome to my profile. I have used this space to outline some reasons why some people choose to see a counsellor, who I am and my qualifications and experience as a practising therapist. If you would like more information, then please do email or phone me and I will do my best to address your area of concern or interest.
You may benefit from counselling if you feel stuck and want a better understanding of who you are or the experiences you have had. You may have reached a point where you are struggling with a particular life event or, there may be an area in your life which you find dissatisfying. Counselling can help with many different issues that might present themselves.
My clients are from all walks of life, but they share one thing in common: they are all seeking change. People come to therapy for myriad reasons – often they feel lost, ‘stuck’, anxious, depressed or wish to understand themselves, improve their relationships or cope better in day-to-day life. Some of the issues that my clients face include:
· depression, anxiety and stress
· grief, loss and bereavement
· addictions (food, drugs and alcohol, gambling, sex etc)
· trauma, neglect, physical, sexual and mental abuse
· identity, meaning and purpose
· attachment, relationship and interpersonal issues·
. Low self-confidence/self-esteem
. Life events (Miscarriage, Divorce)
· anger and emotional difficulties
· Personality disorders (including personality disorders such as anxiety disorders, dissociative disorders)
I am a member of the BACP and I'm proud to adhere to their ethical framework. I believe the fit between counsellor and client is fundamental to the therapeutic relationship and welcome a telephone call to answer any questions you may have about the process. There are no guarantees; counselling is a journey and offers a space for you to explore your feelings around an event or issue, providing an opportunity for change.
I offer face to face Counselling, Telephone and Skype.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Diploma in integrative therapeutic counselling where I was trained in a variety of different theories; this enables me to work with a broad range of issues. I am an integrative counsellor which means I have an integration of different theories and have experience in working with various theories.
As well as working in private practice, I also work with a Harley Street Psychotherapy practice. My experience includes working with various agencies specialising in health issues ranging from post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. I have also done extensive work with Grenfell survivors.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
DUE TO COVID I HAVE TEMPORARILY MOVED MY PRACTICE ONLINE USING ZOOM AND SKYPE.
Counselling has been proven to be most effective if it is at the same time and place each week. Each session is 50 minutes and we can work on an open-ended, long or short term contract to suit your needs.
Counselling is helpful because it provides a confidential, safe and unique space to explore whatever issues you may be experiencing. We would have an initial session to meet and discuss what your aims of therapy might be and how we can work together to achieve them.
From £60* - HARLEY STREET
From £50* - BROMLEY
*I have limited discount and concession and are given based on circumstances.
Kindly contact me to discuss these options.
