About me

I'm an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor working in London Bridge. I provide a confidential, safe and non judgemental space for thought and reflection. I work with individuals and groups who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues and panic disorders on a open ended basis with the aim of enabling people to understand and make sense of their life experiences.

I've worked in a variety of settings from brief work within the NHS, to managing a therapeutic programme in a residential setting fot those suffering from addiction and also I managed an addictions day programme for clients that had a variety of addictions that included eating disorders which masked alcohol misuse issues.

I also managed a service that provided counselling for Dual Diagnosis and personality disordered clients, which had an outreach service for clients who had alcohol misuse issues and learning difficulties.

I was also a interim director of a Mental Health charity which covered two London Boroughs . In my role I worked on various strategic issues covering discharge from psychiatric care and BME mental health issues. I also managed a Mental Health Service User Group in Southwark which met the CCG and South London and Maudsley to discuss mental health provision and psychiatric care. Which covered discharge and community based services.

I strongly believe that if given the space to talk and think, obstacles become easier to handle and problems can be resolved, even if at times life feels difficult and overwhelming. Often we find it difficult to form a narrative that describes our distress.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I have a interest in working with clients that have not thought about using psychotherapy to look at life's puzzles. I welcome clients who come from a BME background and I'm able to facilitate conversations on how mental health, counselling and psychotherapy is stigmatised in those communities.
