About me
Hello, I’m Duni, (also known as Dee). I am a fully qualified integrative therapist offering online and telephone counselling. I have experience working with adult clients on topics such as, anxiety, burnout, OCD, panic attacks, depression, trauma, grief, and bereavement. I will work collaboratively with you to build a relationship based on trust and honesty. It is important to me that you feel accepted and understood without judgement or prejudice.
There are times in life when we may need help to make sense of difficult and often distressing experiences and feelings. I understand that making the decision to initiate counselling can be a significant step, and if you are experiencing a difficultly that causes painful emotions, I will provide you with a safe place to explore your challenges. Having a space to talk openly can be the beginning of your first step.
I am an integrative therapist which means I incorporate concepts from different theoretical approaches, this enables me to tailor counselling to suit your needs.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I practice under the Association’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
If you would like to book an initial session, please get in touch. I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. When you are ready, please contact me.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
As well as running my private practice, I have volunteered for Age UK and worked as a counsellor for Caring Together a charity supporting unpaid carers of all ages.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in the higher education and public health sectors, giving me a unique perspective on the challenges of balancing personal and professional demands.
