About me
I am a BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer (CBT) and a dual registered nurse (NMC) (RGN and RMN)
How can I help you?
I can help with many difficulties:
Anxiety (e.g. panic, phobias, health anxiety, social anxiety, worry, GAD etc)
Depression (low mood, esteem etc)
OCD (checking and cleaning habits, unwanted thoughts etc)
BDD
Eating disorders
Insomnia
Bereavement
Anger
Habit problems (eg hair pulling)
Reaction to trauma and PTSD
Early years experiences.
Like all qualified therapists, I update my skills and knowledge regularly. I also comply with GDPR requirements and BABCP Code of Conduct.
About CBT
CBT has been an established, effective, research driven psychotherapy for many years.
Please see my website for more information - www.dcm-cbt.co.uk
You can also find out more on my professional body’s website; www.babcp.com
How are sessions organised?
Referral is easy. You can contact me by telephone, email, text or post. After an initial assessment, I usually offer six sessions with a review on the sixth session and to continue as agreed if appropriate. Many clients request more sessions after the initial six and we can arrange further sessions with periodic reviews.
What to expect
The assessment is to gather and give information so the best plan can be developed with you. Some people feel anxious before the assessment but I make every effort to help you relax. I then collaboratively help you describe your difficulty and to share my thoughts about how best to proceed. Don’t forget, this is an opportunity to make positive changes.
Contacting me
You are welcome to telephone or email me for more information, and we can then book an initial appointment if you wish to proceed.
