About me
Hi there my name is Draz. Thank you for visiting my profile. I have learned that we all face difficult times at some stage in our lives and I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for help from my (personal )and professional experience. My aim is to help make your journey more comfortable as we can together explore these difficulties, and address any issues that might be concerning you. I offer, professional, supportive and accepting space for us to discuss any issues or thoughts that may be causing you distress and affect your day to day living.
For those with busy lifestyles, I am able to offer sessions during the day, evenings and weekends. I offer online and telephone appointments which can include long and short term therapy.
My approach
I am a Person Centred and Integrative Counsellor. This means I am guided by your feelings and your life experiences. However you would like to take that first step towards positive change, I will be able to support you on your journey.
Together we will think about what is causing your difficulties, highlight things that might no longer be working for you and how you can start to introduce positive changes.
I can work with individuals, children, young people, families and groups. We can have sessions on a short term basis, or over a longer period depending on your needs and wants.
What to expect from our sessions together
When you are ready, please call or email me using the details above. We will then arrange an initial appointment which is free of charge and will last around 50 minutes to an hour.
I understand that meeting me for the first time may be a little nervous. I will do my best to make you relax and feel at ease so there is no need to worry. We will go at your pace, and you will be in control of the session at all times.
The first sessions gives us an opportunity to have a chat about your goals and what it is that has led you to me, and discuss why you have sought counselling right now. It's also your chance to ask any questions you might have and to ask me about my experiences and I will also tell you a bit more about exactly how counselling works. Most importantly, I want you to decide if you feel comfortable working with me, and equally that I feel I am able to provide the right service for your needs.

Memberships
I am a BACP member, (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and am therefore committed to the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am subject to the professional conduct procedure.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
