About me
I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist specialising in work with children, adolescents, young adults and families. I practice out of consulting rooms in Central London (Bloomsbury) at the Child and Family Practice as well as practicing from rooms in Walthamstow, E17.
When emotional problems arise it can be difficult to acknowledge them and know where to turn. Your search for help, for yourself or for your child, may have begun with difficulties in relationships or feeling stuck, lost, overwhelmed or frustrated. I seek to make sense of these feelings and understand them as signposts to underlying challenges. I work at multiple levels to affect change and aim to help you have an increased sense of freedom and enjoyment in individual and/or family life.
What I can help with:
I offer assessment, formulation, and therapeutic treatment of a range of psychological and developmental issues including anxiety, depression or low mood, adjustment to chronic or life-limiting medical diagnosis, trauma, eating disorders, living with neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism and ADHD.
Beginning therapy:
Considering therapy can stir up a range of feelings, yet it has the potential to be a very important experience in ones life. I start from a position of respect and offer a consistent and safe space to listen carefully to your experiences and try to make sense of these with you. From this understanding, new ways of coping and relating can be discovered.
It can be helpful to begin with a 3 session assessment. This gives us an opportunity to think together while also allowing space in between sessions for observation and reflection. At the end of these sessions we can discuss our fit and whether you want to continue. When working with children, it can be helpful to arrange these sessions in a combination of child, parent and whole family time.
Next Steps:
Getting the person right for you, at this time in your life, is important. Feel free to have a read of my website where I have offered an outline of the way I work to support your thinking. Please do make contact if you would like to book an appointment or find out further information.
