Mindful Psychology Ltd is an independent private clinical psychology and psychotherapy service. Directed by Dr Amanda Kinsella our aim is to support you flourish within your emotional well being.

All our psychologists have undergone rigorous doctorate training and bring together a wealth of experience from years of service and expertise within the NHS and the private sector.

We understand that you are unique and so we offer a modern and collaborative approach to treatment supporting you through a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties,

Within our individual clinical therapies, we offer support to individuals and couples who seek solutions to their psychological and emotional difficulties.

We offer a range of evidence-based therapies: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Relational informed therapies. We also offer wellness courses and city revive days throughout the year.

We offer a robust initial assessment tailored to your specific needs. It’s at this stage, together we will decide whether a short course or longer-term psychotherapy is needed depending on your goals and complexity. Sometimes clients can feel that they have enough clarity with our 120-minute session this can be delivered over two sessions and no further treatment is necessary.

We put you in control by giving you a personalised treatment plan. Our approach is collaborative and time-sensitive offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and relational models of therapy.

Our short term therapy integrates the mindful approach and is delivered over 6-12 sessions and thereafter by 60 minutes follow on sessions. We are dedicated and highly experienced professionals passionate about giving you a sense of empowerment and working towards you feeling confident and well again.

We understand that therapy can feel daunting. From the initial consultation, you will leave our practice with a sense of being understood and a clear therapeutic plan.

Training, qualifications & experience

Dr Amanda Kinsella  is a  HCPC-registered Psychologist and chartered member of the British Psychological Society. She is a Consultant Psychologist workshop leader and mindfulness trainer with a wealth of experience within NHS complex care, and private sectors. Offering therapy for people who are feeling overwhelmed within their emotional health.

Within her clinical experience, she developed the first UK clinical research adaptation of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for the regulation of negative affect for alcohol dependency. Amanda is a skilled practitioner and the first UK psychologist trained in Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP). She has also held various positions as a trainer, supervisor and university lecturer.

Dr Kinsella is passionate about mental wellness and preventative mental health. She is well respected for her warm and empathic style. Her work is underpinned in relational psychotherapy  She is also an experienced supervisor and welcomes enquiries from her peers.

Her company provides  one-to-one and group psychological support from expert psychologists with decades of experience within the NHS and private sectors. The successful mindful in action well-being programmes are unique to her company and are the first in the northwest to combat stress resilience and emotional health. Her clinic is within a unique setting right in the heart of Chester city centre providing a holistic environment for all.

HCPC

Health and Care Professions Council

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.

£150.00: Initial assessment: Can be up 2 hours
£100.00: 1.1 Pay as you go therapy: 60 minutes


Or special introductory offer pay in advance scheme: Pay for 6 sessions  and receive your 6th session on us: Total fee £500.

£350.00: MIAP: Wellbeing Courses

£495.00: 4 Step Relationships Counselling
4 Sessions in total

We also offer reduced fees and scholarships depending on financial circumstances and at the discretion of the consulting psychologist. All information is confidential and we welcome all enquiries.
