I am a fully qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (registration number 152994). I specialise in counselling School Children and Young People, Adults and long term family issues.  I  will also work with the issues listed below.

I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), Member of BACP Counselling Children & Young People (MBACP CCYP). I have a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) enhanced clearance in order to work with children and young people.

My training took place at Derby University in Buxton where I studied the various approaches to Psychodynamic Counselling and I am receiving regular professional supervision. I have full professional insurance.

I have worked with Primary School Children with Place2Be, Secondary School Children at Stockport School, Children and Young Adults at Just Drop In and Silk House In Macclesfield over my 15 years experience.

I have three years experience working in a Woman’s centre supporting victims of domestic abuse. This role required the ability to relate sensitively and positively to families under stress, fleeing domestic violence.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Initial Counselling Consultation - 1 hour £30

This is an opportunity to get to know you and your current situation and for you to meet and feel comfortable with me.  If I feel, however, your case is in need of more specialized help then I can advise you on what route to follow.

Adults £35

Concessions available for those with hardship.


Monday and Wednesday 9am to 6pm but other  times by arrangment
