Dorothy Davis MSc MBACP (Accred)
Queens Garden Business Centre
As an experienced counsellor I work with many issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship, low confidence and self-esteem. I am also available to work with clients who seek support with personal development, are concerned about work or retirement, are students, or students on a counselling course.
My counselling practice is in a convenient town-centre location in Newcastle-under-Lyme, just a short walk from the bus station and car-parks. This is also convenient for Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
I am competitively priced. The initial consultation is FREE and without obligation for the first half hour, enabling us to find out more about one another. If we then decide to work together, I charge £20 for the remaining part of the session.
It depends on the individual needs of each client as to how many further appointments may be helpful. Some single issues, may be helped by short-term therapy of between 6 to 12 sessions, whilst more complex issues may require longer. This can be discussed at our first meeting.
As well as having a private practice, I have experience of counselling in various settings, including, for the NHS, for a mental health charity, and as an associate counsellor for students at a university.
I am accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)- which means that they consider I have 'achieved a high standard of knowledge, experience and development'. I am insured and adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
