About me

In life there will be times when you feel worried, sad, anxious, depressed about your current situation. Or stuck and unhappy in life or in a relationship. We all need help and support in life at times. I offer a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, offer support, and tools to equip you towards a resolution and peace of mind.

I am a warm approachable and relational counsellor, I work sensitively and at a pace that best suits you. I work alongside my clients in partnership and aim to cultivate a strong therapeutic relationship. Our work together will be ethically and professionally conducted, confidential and with guaranteed anonymity. I work in a non-judgemental, compassionate and authentic way and in a comfortable environment.

There is no problem too small or big! I work with most concerns, if I am not able to assist you I will recommend or signpost you to a relevant organisation or person.

My focus in therapy is to empower and equip you with various resources to make the best choices and decisions to relief your distress. I also believe that therapy can support integration of mind, body and soul/heart and assist in a more balanced sense of self.

I work in an integrative way, simply meaning I will use a variety of theories and tools to work with you as a unique individual. I believe that no one therapeutic approach has all the answers and therapy should be tailored to meet everyone's individual needs. I aim to provide the right support in helping my clients to feel understood, less anxious, free and empowered to start moving forward with their lives.

I look forward to hearing from you, feel free to call, text or email to arrange an appointment. If you would like to discuss your concerns or would like more information without any obligation, please do not hesitate to contact me on 07900 256868 or email me.

Before I trained as a counsellor I worked in the city for over a decade in the advertising/media sector and understand the pressures and challenges of maintaining a healthy work life balance. This is an area I am passionate about, I have helped and supported many individuals and families to set healthy life boundaries which has empowered them to make different life choices.

I have experience in facilitating a Domestic Violence Awareness programme and I have also been trained as a Freedom Programme Facilitator. Working with survivors has given me insight and knowledge of how this can impact individuals and families. I work specifically with individuals and families to help restore and rebuild their lives back.

Private Practice

I have worked in Private Practice for many years now and I have good knowledge of difference and diversity. I have vast knowledge of working with many people from different walks of life, ages, sexual identities, ethnicity's, cultures, classes, religions, abilities, disabilities, and ages. I am well travelled. I like to explore you as a person and your family culture and upbringing, I feel that this can reveal so much about you.

Addiction

I have worked in various charities as a Counsellor and I have experience in working with individuals with addictions and carers and families impacted by addiction. My role in the Drug & Alcohol Service, included supporting and equipping clients with a range of tools and techniques to help manage anxiety/depression in a safe confidential counselling agency.

Couples and Families:

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
