About me

It can be difficult to take the first step into counselling. What is it all about? Will counselling help me? Hopefully I can help you answer those questions.

My name is Donna and I am a qualified, integrative counsellor. This means I am trained within a number of psychological and counselling theories. I can use these theories to help you unlock and work with your issues. In essence, there are a number of different ways we can work together to help you identify and work with issues that are problematic to you. I am also a member of the British Association for Psychotherapy (BACP).

My aim is to create a warm and welcoming space for you to talk about your mental health worries. There is no judgement here only a confidential time and space for you to explore and work through your issues. There is no criticism here only a time and space where you will be valued and respected as you find your path through your issues. The nature of counselling is to promote personal growth by helping you see your issues and find ways to work with and overcome them.

I offer an initial free 30 minute meeting. This will help you to decide if counselling is right for you, am I the right counsellor for you and to get a better idea of what is involved in the process. If you decide to continue, I offer 50 minute sessions for you to work on your issues. These can be short or long term, depending on what you want to work on.

I am situated within Queens Dock Business Centre, Liverpool City Centre, in the Baltic Triangle. There is free parking at the front and rear of the building and I am close to Liverpool One and Paradise St Bus Station.

My charges are £50 per 50 minute session.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
