About me

Hello, I'm Donna and I can offer you several therapies, including some that do not require as much talking as standard talking therapies (for example Brainspotting, EMDR, and Therapeutic writing).

I offer either 45mins (£45) or 60mins (£60) appointments. Email me if you would like to book a session. You do not need to know which therapy to choose - I will help you to choose what might work best for you.

My sessions will be by video consultation or phone for the time being. I have been a therapist for over 20yrs and online since 2014 so I am very experienced with online therapy and have completed training in this mode also. Many of my clients find this to be very convenient for them as they don't have to travel to get to sessions.

My theoretical approach is cognitive-behavioural, but I am strongly influenced by neurobiological theories of emotion and attachment, compassion-focused therapy, polyvagal theory and acceptance and commitment therapy.  I also incorporate the adaptive information processing theory of EMDR into my practice.  This all means that I have a strong body-brain and trauma-informed focus to my work with clients and am well-practiced in identifying and working with complex PTSD (CPTSD).  I am a fully Accredited BABCP Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, a BACP Registered Psychotherapist, an EMDR & BrainspottingTherapist. I'm also a HCPC qualified Occupational Therapist and Writing therapist.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists.

BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
