Donna Galea-Bateman MA, BA (Hons), MBACP (Accred)
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and clinical counselling supervisor, registered and accredited to the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
The core of my practice is humanistic, underpinned by a person centred way of being. I believe we all want the best for ourselves and have the capacity to achieve it and that we have an inherent need to understand ourselves and to make sense of life struggles. Understanding the way we experience events and life crisis and their impact on us as individuals, gives us the opportunity to understand ourselves better, providing us with choice and opportunity for change. Through counselling, a greater self-awareness equals a new perspective of the way in which we see the world, ourselves and others in it and offers an opportunity towards a more positive way of being.
I offer a safe, empathic and non-judgemental environment that supports you to reflect on and explore those issues of concern to you. As circumstances of life outside of your control bring their own challenges, an unconditional, accepting and confidential therapeutic relationship will support you to reflect on positive ways forward.
My practice experience includes working with both adults and adolescents in private practice, in schools, with voluntary organisations and as part of the NHS.
I have an enhanced DBS certificate and professional indemnity insurance. As a qualified and experienced counselling supervisor I provide clinical counselling supervision for counsellors at every stage of qualification and for those working in helping professions.
My counselling/supervision room is situated in a therapy centre providing a range of therapeutic
services. A relaxing environment located on the outskirts of a village it provides a quiet space. The building provides disabled access, ample on-site parking and comfort facilities.
I am available most week day evenings, day time and evening on Fridays.
