About me

My name is Donna and I am a natural empath. Originally from London I have lived in beautiful Shropshire for many years now and had the fortunate opportunity to raise my children here.

As your Counsellor it is my purpose to support and guide you when you have lost your way.  Doesn’t life just happen!  Often the unexpected happens when we are least prepared and then there is a build up of anxiety and worry which makes everything seem impossible and insurmountable.  It’s one of the bravest decisions to make in letting a stranger in to ‘hear’ you and it is my aim to make that process much less daunting.

At Argent Counselling, I will help to ease the process of confronting your fears and anxieties and with a person-centred approach facilitate healing the view of your horizon by visualising what can be seen and achieved beyond this.  I like to work holistically and spiritually and always with sensitivity.

Argent translates as silver in French.  Silver has a meaning of ‘soul reflection’. This self-reflection encapsulates what is needed to achieve the best outcome in therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

Shrewsbury College ABC Certificate, Level 3 in Counselling

Shrewsbury College, AIM Certificate Counselling Children and Young People

Shrewsbury College, CPCAB Diploma Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling

The Counselling Tutor Online/telephone Foundation Course

I have volunteered for the GreenOak Foundation in Frankwell, Shrewsbury with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression and trauma.
I have also gained relevant experience volunteering as a student counsellor at Shrewsbury College and now employed with them as an Emotional Health and Well-being Practitioner. I work with issues of self-harm and suicide, anxiety and depression.

I have worked as a Home Support Worker at Age Uk and more often than not seen the loneliness and sadness and isolation.

I can also draw on experience and understanding in my time as a Therapeutic Parent within a care setting.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
