Dnyan Keni-Vaux, PGDip MBACP
If you feel you've lost your sense of direction or purpose, have experienced loss or trauma, or just need a space to really feel heard, I can help. I am a BACP registered psychotherapeutic counsellor working in Brighton and Lewes, with both daytime and evening availability. Together, we can work through whatever is troubling you in a non-judgmental, supportive and confidential space.
Everyone can feel overwhelmed at times in their life and counselling can offer a safe place in which to explore difficulties that you may be experiencing. These may be in the present or past, small or overwhelming, one major issue or a combination of many individual ones.
Issues that counselling can help with include: depression, anxiety, stress, anger, relationships, abuse, trauma, loss, bereavement, sexuality, work and career challenges, difficulties with parents or family, fertility and miscarriage, self esteem, identity issues, bullying, ageing, dealing with racism and discrimination, addiction, eating disorders, physical health – the list goes on.
Whatever challenges you may be facing, working with a counsellor may help you to make sense of what is happening and enable you to understand yourself better and perhaps to make the changes you want to.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a BA (Hons) in English and Linguistics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I am also a registered member or the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
Before training as a counsellor, I worked in film production, education and adult social care - all of which bring a wealth of experience to my counselling work. Also, my name. It is pronounced 'Nee-Ann' and means 'knowledge' in the ancient Indian language Sanskrit. If you are unsure about how to say it, just ask!
