Donald (Neil) Sproul CBT, BACP, PgDip, Cert. Couns Skills, MA, PGCSE, BA Hons.
I offer a kind and caring space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I will help you to understand the issues that may be holding you back in life or preventing you from feeling contentment. My type of therapy - CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) - will help you develop a range of insights and skills you can use throughout your life to achieve better peace of mind.
I provide a non-judgemental, confidential and safe environment for you to work on the changes you would like to make. Sessions can be arranged in the daytime or evening to allow you to fit them around your schedule. There are also a few early morning sessions available, which are ideal for those who would like to access therapy before their busy day begins.
I was a secondary school guidance teacher for many years so welcome the opportunity of working with older teenagers (16 - 18).
I am particularly interested in working with people who are experiencing difficulties with addictive issues such as alcohol, drugs, gambling, over-eating, sex and shopping.
Health Anxiety is also something I work with, particularly given the large number of people who are reporting mental health concerns related to Covid-19 / Coronavirus and lockdown.
I am based in the Southside of Glasgow and work from locations with excellent public transport links and easy parking for cars.
I hope I can help you with your current difficulties.
Kind thoughts to you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully-qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
