Divya Jogai Reg MBACP
Hello and welcome!
Do you feel anxious, stressed or depressed?
Despite all efforts you find yourself stuck, alone and despairing.
I am a BACP Registered counsellor and I can offer you a safe place to support you to explore your situation and find meaning.
Counselling and Psychotherapy are clinically proven to help us understand our processes and offer us help to support our mental and emotional well -being. Sometimes life presents us with unforeseen circumstances or we find ourselves in life situations where everything seems overwhelming and out of control. You might have been able to manage well in the past but you feel more vulnerable, teary and fragile.
This could be because of loss of relationship, bereavement, health, job, dreams, trauma or something more profound.
I am a BACP registered qualified counsellor who can help you find meaning through the loss and pain. I offer a safe and non-judgemental space to help you explore the issues and make a positive change. Sometimes this process is easier and more effective with a trained counsellor who is not a close relative or a friend.
I am a warm and an empathic person and believe that solutions come from people once they take the first step. This might seem daunting at first but once people decide to take therapy positive change can happen.
I trained as a Humanistic Counsellor based on Transactional Analysis in 2014. I customise therapy according to the needs of the client's and use various techniques to make it simple , practical and effective. I have a good understanding of other modalities like CBT, Psychodynamic, solution focussed and integrative. My clinical experience includes one to one work in a busy doctor's surgery, University of Southampton and have the specialist training in abuse and addictions respectively.
I am Asian by background and grew up in India. My first career was in academics, but there was a part in me who always wanted to be a counsellor and therefore after my move to U.K I trained as a Counsellor. I embrace multiculturalism and I enjoy working with people with varying ethnicity and diverse backgrounds. I understand the impact of moving cultures and the challenges and joys it encompasses. I believe every individual without any labels of gender, religion, nationality or sexuality is a human being first and for me in the therapy room that is very important.
Unconditional Positive Respect and being non-judgemental is one of the key values of ethics and I do my utmost to follow these principles. It gives me a great sense of satisfaction being a part of people's life to make a difference.
I am privileged to work with people ,joining them in their life journey and helping them to manage change effectively.
It's your life and it's important. I can offer support and help you to find your own answers to be able to cope life better. I am here to partner you and guide you to help find the solution that best fits your unique situation.
My private practice is in a quiet close on the ground floor with easy parking.
I work with individuals and couples for either short term or long term work.
