Discover WELL is dedicated to helping adults (16y/o+) facing mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing challenges who wish to transition from merely surviving to truly thriving. Our professional counsellors have a wealth of experience in all aspects of mental health and wellbeing.
Our centre provides an integrative approach to help strengthen your mental health and wellbeing. Our counsellors use proven methods for change that complement each other well. We don’t just address the presenting symptoms, but rather the root causes of problems, ensuring you achieve the positive lasting change you seek.
We offer session both in-person and online.

Training, qualifications & experience
Our counsellors have professional counselling qualifications and have a wealth of experience. They are under regular professional supervision and are committed to on-going professional development, keeping up with current issues and government requirements.
Our counsellors adhere to the ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors) and/or BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) Code of Ethics and Practice. These are available to view at: bacp.co.uk and acc-uk.org

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
The Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) is a Christian professional membership organisation for those involved in counselling/psychotherapy and linked professions, i.e. pastoral care, coaching and spiritual direction, in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.

Additional information
Our fees are on a sliding scale based on income and circumstances. Fees are agreed during our initial telephone consultation. Fees range from £25 – £70 per session. The session fee is paid in advance of each session via bank transfer.
We are not part of the NHS and do not receive any funding from the government. Our counsellors offer their services at reduced rates. We also rely on donations, to enable us to offer this service at subsidised rates. All donations are gratefully received.

Discover WELL Life Centre, is part of City Changer Projects – the community impacting initiatives operated under Doxa Deo Community Church. Our desire is to see God’s transforming presence impact everyone who engages with us. All of our team are Christians from local churches in the area and operate within a Christian ethos.
However, we are delighted to offer our service to anyone regardless of whether they have a faith or no faith at all, and we fully respect each individual’s personal beliefs.
