Some details about me and where I work
I have a Masters degree in Gestalt psychotherapy and have been practising as a counsellor and psychotherapist for 22 years in the NHS and privately.
It is often difficult to talk to family and friends about the way you may be feeling. Counselling and psychotherapy can help. I offer a confidential, non-judgmental space for you to air fears and anxieties. I will not tell you what to do but will support you to work through what is troubling you and reach your own solutions to problems.
I aim to suit the way I work to the specific needs of the individual. I believe it is important to build a relationship based on trust and respect. I offer warmth, compassion, confidentiality and ethical practice. I offer long-term and time-limited therapy.
I work with people who bring a range of problems, such as relationship difficulties at home and at work, loss and bereavement, anxiety and depression, fertility issues, career changes. I also work with individuals who wish to examine their lives and develop themselves. I have considerable experience of working with people who have suffered sexual abuse.
I also work with trainees and students of counselling and psychotherapy to support them in their journey to become practitioners.
When an individual is unsure of what lies behind their discomfort or unhappiness, I will work with them to make sense of their feelings and gain some insight, so that they can make choices about how to live their lives.
