About me

My Experience

I am a qualified Integrative counsellor with experience of working adults and young people; in a variety of settings such as colleges, GP practices and a charity with people that have been affected by sexual abuse. My approach when working with my clients is to consider their whole being whilst working with them. This enables them to find the ability from within to explore experiences, thoughts and feelings that can help bring a better understanding of themselves.

My Current Role

I currently work in a secondary school as a counsellor/mentor. This role has further enhanced my ability to connect on a meaningful level with people and help them to think about how they respond to life and explore how they relate to themselves and others.

My Counselling Approach

My therapeutic approach is integrative, which means that I use a combination of approaches; psychodynamic and cognitive behaviour therapy, in a humanistic way.  I believe that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations. However it is my role to hear and accept you in a place you are in and help you to discover your own solutions.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Therapeutic counselling ‘Integrative’ BACP 2014
  • B.A Sociology and Social Policy Degree '1996'
  • Teen’s Turmoil and Transition: Mental Health in Adolescence – Young Minds 2017
