About me

Hi, I look forward to meeting you!

I'm a qualified Person Centred therapist, (BACP accredited course,) with you at the centre of the work.  I care about the details of the session, from making sure you’re physically comfortable & able to feel a sense of home.  I aim to build and create a trusting relationship and take time to get to know you and what your needs are.  I believe I am a warm person, caring and aim to actively listen to what you may be sharing.  Others say I am empathic and kind & offer warming & a genuine interest in people.  I hope you sense this too.  I have my Access NI check cleared and up to date also.

I work with a wide range of issues from anxiety, family concerns, stress, low mood to supporting children struggling in school due to Covid 19.  I work using natural materials & sometimes use music with clients to help them relax if they want to use this.  Clients can sit on chairs or the floor depending on age and comfort- whatever suits best!  I find my work fulfilling and learn lots from my clients too.  I engage in supervision making sure you have the best service available.

I work in creative ways and with adults in my private work although have experience with children and young people.  I make sure that the sessions are led by you and at your pace, and if using materials in the session, what is chosen by you.  I use play & art making in my work when appropriate & work from a person centred approach, with you and your needs being paramount. The work is always client led to fit your needs & I am also able to offer a safe, outdoor garden space if you’d value that for sessions.

I believe in making a safe space where concerns can be talked about & aim to build a trusting and therapeutic relationship.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have spent 11 years working with children and young people and have a heart to work especially with children.  I work creatively with them using sand, puppets, paint, making and craft and other mediums that are appropriate for the age of the child or young person.
