About me
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." - Carl Rogers
Hello, I am Diane Wardman, a Qualified Counsellor, and Psychotherapist working online with clients throughout the UK and abroad. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work within their Ethical Framework which sets out the principles, values, and standards for ethical practice within the counselling profession.
I work pluralistically by drawing on many different elements of psychology to find the best way of addressing client issues. A respectful, collaborative client-therapist relationship is at the heart of a good therapeutic outcome. This type of special relationship underpins pluralistic therapy and is ideally suited to most clients’ needs and wants.
I can help you with a variety of issues such as abuse (emotional, physical, and sexual), addiction, ADHD, anger management, anxiety, autism, bereavement, career coaching, depression, disability, eating disorders, family issues, fears, grief, LGBTQ+, loss, low self-esteem, low self-worth, OCD, panic disorder, phobias, relationship issues, stress, trauma, women's issues and much more.
If you would like to book a FREE 20-minute introduction session (over Zoom) or a 50-minute paid session (over Zoom) please visit the scheduling link on my website:- https://shoresidetherapy.as.me/
I offer short-term and long-term counselling, but you decide on the frequency of sessions to suit your busy work schedule. Sessions take place over the Zoom App and are for a 50-minute duration.
You might have many questions at this stage so please feel free to contact me via email before you book a session.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

First Counselling Session
In the first counselling session, we will meet over Zoom and get to know each other a bit better. We will gently explore all the issues and concerns you have brought into the counselling space and work with practical solutions and coping strategies for improved mental well-being. I will provide you with ongoing counselling support for as long as you feel it is necessary.
