I offer short and long term psychotherapy and counselling in a relaxed, private setting in Chorlton.
Do you need space to stop and reflect? Time to talk, focus on you? Symptoms highlighting that life isn't how you really want it to be, may include feeling depressed, anxious or stressed, lonely or isolated, angry or overwhelmed. You may need to make sense of the impact of a major life event, such as a bereavement, a birth, a relationship breakdown, an illness or a career change. You may feel the need to explore unresolved issues or painful memories from childhood.
I value the importance of establishing trust and building the therapeutic relationship, and I bring enthusiasm, empathy, creativity and humour to my client work.
Psychotherapy is suitable for anyone who wants to work on personal issues, resolve emotional conflict, make changes and move forward in their lives.
Therapy gives you the space to explore what may be troubling you, in a safe, respectful, confidential and non judgemental way.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed a four year training course in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy (2004-2008) and hold a diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy.
I am a member of UKATA and BACP, attend supervision regularly, and am fully insured.
I deeply believe that wellbeing and creativity go hand in hand. For the past 15 years I have worked with individuals and community groups, facilitating creative and therapeutic workshops in mental health settings, hospitals and schools, with people from all walks of life.
Prior to this, during the 90's, I worked with international sports brands as a design consultant before realising that I found people more interesting and rewarding to work with than products! My own personal therapy journey inspired me to train as a psychotherapist.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Transactional Analysis is an approach used in psychotherapy, counselling and other areas, with individuals, couples and groups. TA enables us to make sense of our unique personal history. Why are we like we are? How do we feel and think? How do we relate to others?
The therapist and client take joint responsibility for working on the changes you want to make - we are on the journey together.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of therapy with me, please telephone or email anytime. If I am unable to answer your call, I will do my best to respond within 24 hours.
