About me

Hello, I'm Diane and welcome to my profile page.

I am an experienced Counsellor working with adults and I understand considering counselling can be a daunting one taking great courage but,  you're here and naturally you maybe filled with many emotions right now which is why I offer an initial free 20-minute phone consultation to explore how we can work together. I am truly passionate that finding the right counsellor for you is the foundation that leads to the change you want to see.

I  offer face to face counselling sessions from a private peaceful lakeside room at my home where you privacy is respected. Alongside this I offer  as part of my counselling practice counselling sessions via Zoom and Phone.

What can I offer during your sessions?

I work with adults with mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, low self esteem, low self-confidence, bereavement and loss, health anxiety and long term chronic health conditions.  Above all, my approach during your therapy is to provide you with an empathetic and non-judgemental space in your sessions providing a trusting, respectful and professional therapeutic environment.

We will work together in your first session to assess what you need from therapy and what fits your unique needs best.

What will sessions look like?

As your counsellor I offer you the space to work at your pace.  My professional qualifications, skills and experience enable me to look at promoting your empowerment and your understanding of what it means to be YOU which can prove to be life changing.

My experience and training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) means I can also offer structure to your sessions as you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours you experience. Working in an educative and collaborative way during your sessions I can help you to focus and develop strategies to take outside of your session into your daily life to promote the change you want.

With my commitment to you at the heart of therapy I undertake continued professional development to enhance my knowledge and engage in regular monthly supervision sessions to ensure my continued ethical and professional way of working alongside being a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
