About me

I am an accredited Human Givens Psychotherapist and a Mindfulness Teacher. I understand that you want to feel better quickly. I will listen, guide and respond with warmth and respect using the best techniques to suit you and your needs.

I specialise in helping people with stress and anxiety and the many ways in which this may play out including: anxiety-related conditions, depression, panic attacks, trauma, insomnia, PTSD, anger management, phobias, overwhelm, burn-out, performance anxiety; self-harm; self-esteem or social anxiety. Whatever your current difficulty, we can work together to make a difference in the here and now.

Human Givens is a brief, effective solution-focused therapy.

It is a holistic approach, using proven techniques from many effective therapies as well as insights and wisdom drawn from sources such as psychology, neurobiology and sociology. It does not focus unduly on the past or on the negative. Instead, we work together to build your skills, your resources and to manage or overcome difficulties so that you can feel better quickly and get on with your life.

HG therapy focuses on our emotional needs to ensure that they are met in a healthy way. Just as we all have physical needs, so we also have emotional needs such as good relationships, a sense of control over our lives or a sense of purpose and meaning. When these needs are met in balance, people flourish.

This is the heart of Human Givens therapy. With this framework we can change old unhelpful patterns, deal with current situations or learn new skills to approach the future with a renewed sense of well-being and control. I also offer counselling for young people and children using the same principles.

Please contact me with any questions or to book an initial appointment.

I look forward to hearing from you!
