About me
I offer individual counselling through Talk Therapy, CBT, Creative Therapies and Personal Consultancy sessions. I use Integrative approaches to therapy, depending on what each person that I meet with may need. This often changes as we progress through the stages of therapeutic journey together so being able to call upon varied theoretical domains when needed is at the centre of my approach.
I am a Trauma Informed therapist, offering Rewind Trauma Therapy as well as looking at the traumatic experiences and their inevitable consequences on the person experiencing them through the prism of Poly-Vagal Theory, seeking to familiarise the client with the workings of their own nervous system and eventually countering some of the long term effects that trauma can have on the body and the mind. I aim to give real, practical skills to the client so they can build their own tool box for the future in order to maintain their wellbeing as their therapeutic journey eventually comes to an end.
To that purpose I use Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), which utilises our knowledge of Poly-Vagal Theory to date. It is a research-based intervention that has given significant results in reducing stress and anxiety, improving the well-being of people of all ages. SSP uses filtered music to encourage the nervous system that connects the brain and body to reset. This calms the nervous system out of its "fight, flight or freeze" response.
The brain and body can then work in a more balanced way which makes coping with the stresses and strains of everyday life and making social engagement easier.
The clients report the easing of general anxiety symptoms, better ability to engage socially, making it easier to live with ADHD, ADD and Autism as well as reducing the symptoms of Anxiety and Stress.
I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor as well as a clinical supervisor with an Msc in CBT and BSc in Psychology.
I am a BACP Registered practitioner and I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling professions.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
