About me

I offer individual counselling through Talk Therapy, Creative Therapies and Personal Consultancy sessions. I use Integrative and Person Centred approaches. I work from my purpose built counselling space or outdoors through the Walk and Talk Therapy.

At this moment in time I ONLY offer ONLINE consultations. This has been just one of the ways I've been working with clients for quite some time as some clients cannot leave home for different reasons. This is now further amplified by the social distancing we have all been asked to observe at this time.

I am a Trauma Informed therapist, offering Rewind Trauma Therapy as a way of countering some of the long term effects that trauma can have on the body and the mind. I am an IARTT registered practitioner.

I also offer a Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). The Safe and Sound Protocol is a research-based intervention that has given significant results in reducing stress and anxiety, improving the well-being of people of all ages.

SSP uses filtered music to encourage the nervous system that connects the brain and body to reset. This calms the nervous system out of its "fight, flight or freeze" response.
The brain and body can then work in a more balanced way which makes coping with the stresses and strains of everyday life and making social engagement easier.
The clients report the easing of general anxiety symptoms, better ability to engage socially, making it easier to live with ADHD, ADD and Autism.

I am a qualified counsellor with a BSc in Psychology and a BACP Registered practitioner. I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling professions.

I work in private practice as well as volunteer by co-running a social group locally that offers a space where people across different ages can meet and spend time together, get to know each other and as a result combat some of the effects of loneliness and disconnection that is reported today as a major influence to health and happiness. I believe this also has a huge positive effect on people's mental health; being seen and heard by another is life changing and enhancing.

We all have aims and ambitions for ourselves but life events can often leave us in places and situations that are unhelpful to us in finding our true selves and realising our full potential. I know, I've been there myself...
We know that we can be our own agents of change but occasionally we may need a helping hand. Metaphorically speaking, we need to adjust our sail so we can catch the wind that will take us to those exciting, unexplored waters.

I work from a few different locations in East London, covering the areas of E1, E2, E3, E8, E14 and E20.  My consulting space is in Bow & Bethnal Green area and the Walk and Talk Therapy takes place in the green spaces that abound around us.

I aim to offer these varied locations because I know, through experience, that some clients need to move, be outdoors and active in order to connect to their deepest thoughts and feelings and that others need a quiet or contemplative space in order to engage fully in the moment. Also, having an option to use creative arts, when words may fail, to help expression, can make a real difference.

Call or email for an initial chat about what you may want and need. This may lead to a first, informal 'get-to-know-you' session which may indeed be your first step into truly getting to know how to approach and deal with life issues that may be hindering your wellbeing.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
