Denise Sturges-Allard BSc (Hons) Psych, MBPsS, MBACP
We are all are likely to have times in our lives when we feel rejected, confused, angry, anxious, frustrated or lost. But when these feelings overwhelm us and prevent us from moving forward, achieving our goals or maintaining relationships - counselling can help.
I offer a safe space for you to explore these feelings. I enable you to have your voice, to express how you feel (without being judged) and explore your options & what you want in your life. This then can help you to identify what might be holding you back and how you can make positive changes.
I don't believe in a 'one size to fits all' so I use different approaches in response to the needs of each client (including CBT, mindfulness as well as client centred therapy). I'm down to earth and while I will challenge you, I go by your lead as to what you want to work on and for how long. I have experience of working with clients who are experiencing a range of issues and have particular interest and experience of working with anxiety, low self confidence/esteem, grief and relationship & parent to be issues/concerns.
I offer a free, initial telephone consultation (around 30 mins). This enables us to explore what you may be looking for in a Counsellor, as well as for me to explain a little about how I work so that we can decide if I am able to meet your needs. If you would like to book a telephone consultation please do get in touch and let me know times to suit.
