About me

I am a BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist with many years of experience. I offer short term and long term, one-to-one counselling, either in person or online. I provide you with a safe, confidential, empathic and supportive space to explore what is troubling you.

What Counselling do I offer
The counselling I offer is Psychosynthesis, which is a talking therapy .It is a sensitive, powerful and depth therapy . It takes an holistic approach, recognising the roles of the mind, body, feelings and spirituality in the process of personal growth.

How Counselling can help
Psychosynthesis looks forward, as well as back into your life experiences and helps you to understand the meaning of present patterns and situations which are no longer serving you. It helps to improve the relationship and connection with yourself and others. It can help to make sense of loss or prolonged grief, help with anxiety and depression , feeling sad, work, or any of life’s issues. It helps you to understand who you are and how to value and nourish yourself with the potential for self knowledge, healing and change.

How I work
Through talking, we have the space to look at what is troubling you and I can offer a different perspective. Where appropriate, I use techniques such as meditation, drawing and visualisations so that the unconscious will become more conscious. This awareness will help you to move forward with greater choice and purpose.

Getting started
Please either call, or email me, to find a convenient date and time for an initial consultation. This initial meeting gives you a chance to tell me what you want from counselling. If you are happy to continue, we will set up a regular weekly session.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
