About me

A private practice providing short term and long term counselling, therapy, coaching and self development to adults with emotional needs and self esteem issues.

This includes adults experiencing bereavement and other mental health problems. Allowing a safe environment to explore issues.

One to one therapy and counselling is offered and charged on an hourly basis at each session. Presenting issues are general counselling, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, anger management, relationship issues and bereavement. Every client is unique and the therapeutic working relationship is tailored to the needs of the client and not to one specific approach.

An additional service of self development is offered to clients who ask for it, at the end of the last counselling session.

A coaching service is offered in six to eight hourly sessions as a separate service on a one to one basis.

Training, qualifications & experience

Integrative Psychotherapist BSc Hons, MA, MBACP

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Psychotherapy and Counselling).  I have over a decade experience of working with different types of clientele and I am passionate about the work that I do.  I have worked in the field of Mental Health which I thoroughly enjoyed. I put the needs of the client first.

I started my career in Psychology. My interest developed in Counselling after an introduction to Counselling Psychology.  I decided to follow this path by completing a basic Counselling Skills course and had such fulfillment, decided to launch my career in Counselling.

My passion to help others developed when I saw the growing emotional needs of individuals who crossed my path daily.

I have also completed training in Bereavement Counselling which I found both challenging and rewarding because of my own experience of loss. I work within the guidelines of BACP ethical framework.

I have several years experience of working as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist for organisations and in private practice, including Hammersmith and Fulham Mind.

I have also experienced my own emotional breakdown which has driven me to do more for the community.

I have a BSc Hons in Psychology and MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling.  During my first degree, I worked in the Drop In Centre for Mind.

I have completed several courses in counselling. The first was a Certificate in Counselling Skills, this course was for one year. Followed by a Foundation in Psychotherapy and Counselling course. The final course was a MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling.

During the time of studying the above courses, I attended training courses at Mind.

I completed a Bereavement Course and a Life Coaching Course.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
