About me
Welcoming, and easy to talk to, I am a BACP Registered Counsellor & Psychotherapist, who works with individuals and couples experiencing difficult emotions or challenging life events. I work across two practices in Chorlton, South Manchester and I also provide counselling sessions by phone, video call. Home and Workplace visits around Manchester, Trafford and Cheshire can also be arranged.
Sometimes a particular issue can impact on our lives. Leaving us with mixed feelings and thoughts. As a result you may find that you are anxious, over-thinking and analysing more frequently. Or you may have become increasingly more emotional, low in mood, and despondent. You may even find that you sway between all of the aforementioned.
It is usually at this point that people often start to consider seeking support, in order to address how they are feeling, thinking or behaving, and contact me to discuss what counselling/therapy is.
Counselling is a talking therapy that may help you cope with; anxiety, depression, low mood, grief, loss of direction and life stresses.
If you have read up to this point, could it be that you feel the need to talk to someone or maybe you are looking with someone else in mind?
As an experienced therapist, I work with a diverse range, of both individuals and couples. My aim, and the fundamental point of therapy, is to help you, better understand yourself and the situation that you are finding challenging. Allowing you to gain some clarity of thought and focus.
I have worked with hundreds of clients on issues such as: the breakdown of a relationship, poor communication, divorce, separation, affairs and betrayal. Parenting, bereavement, work related stress, financial worries. Or difficult emotions such as: anxiety and low mood, depression, low self-esteem and confidence or sexual identity.
I understand that the decision to see a counsellor for the first time can be daunting. You don’t really know what to expect, let alone what to say. There may be a fear of being judged or that your problem may be viewed as trivial and not serious. The foundation of my training is person-centred therefore judgment or criticism is not part of my approach. I treat each person as an individual tailoring the session to meet their needs.
Choosing the right therapist is an important decision and is the difference between a good or bad experience of counselling. You need to feel understood, and able to express yourself comfortably. With that in mind I offer a FREE no obligation telephone consultation. This allows you the time to discuss your issues, ask me questions and find out more about what to expect from therapy.
My hope is that our conversation allows you the opportunity to get to know me a little, and make a informed decision. If I feel that I am unable to work with you I will explain why and endeavour to refer you on to another service.
If you feel that I might be able to help you, please contact me to arrange a FREE initial consultation.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
