About me

Honest, effective, creative treatment, grounded in evidence.

I am an established private UKCP registered psychotherapist. NHS trained and experienced in leading evidence-based treatments and in Integrative Psychotherapy, I tailor a way of working to meet your unique needs and personality style.

I help people with a wide range of difficulties, from complex diagnosed mental health conditions, to feelings of depression and anxiety, low self esteem, and difficult relationship and workplace problems.

Alongside my direct clinical work I regularly contribute to media outlets on issues surrounding mental health and am a Board and Executive Committee member of the International Attachment Network, an international psychotherapy training and education organisation.

Further Information

I am trained in Integrative, Psychodynamic (Attachment based), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) and am informed by up to date research on efficacy and contemporary trauma treatment and stabilization techniques including  mindfulness.

This broad training means I can offer comprehensive help to each client for example, providing plenty of space for you to tell your story, placing a greater or lesser emphasis on your childhood, using more or less structured thinking and diagrams, or perhaps trying gentle but effective behavioural experiments or body based emotional regulatory techniques.

I work in a warm, supportive, informal and collaborative way, making sure your voice is heard and respected and that you come to understand yourself; your needs, conflicts, anxieties, defences, and relational patterns on a much deeper level, enabling you to explore alternative ways of being and relating, to help bring you greater satisfaction and stability.

For more information on how I work, please consult my website.

UK Council for Psychotherapy

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
