About me

Welcome, I am Dee and I help individuals and young people aged 14 and above with a diverse range of issues either in person and/or online for short or long term therapy.

Talking therapy, or counselling, is an effective psychological healing method that focuses on how each of us views the outside world, other people, and ourselves. It highlights the parts of ourselves that require healing and the process of personal growth to deal with them when working with a qualified therapist.

By collaborating within a safe and secure environment it creates a nurturing space, allowing clients’ authentic selves to emerge. This process brings about a clarity that empowers them to experience a sense of contentment that is often challenging to discover or achieve.

How I can help you ...

My approach to counselling enables individuals who feel they need direction in peeling back the layers to uncover and understand their "why." Recognising the "why" behind our thoughts, feelings, and behaviour allows us to focus, identify our purpose, and make intentional choices. It focuses on self-awareness and self-empowerment to help clients with emotional control and minimising reactivity.

I draw inspiration from a diverse range of therapy models and use a combination of person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioural therapy to deliver personalised and integrative therapy. Integrative therapy, is a flexible approach and is tailored to meet the unique needs and circumstances of each individual.

It necessitates a willingness to trust the therapeutic process, to be open and transparent, and to share personal experiences. To support you in taking this step, I provide a complimentary, friendly, and confidential telephone call in which you can ask questions and begin a conversation about what has prompted you to seek support. Or perhaps, you may want to schedule your first session. I can assist in whichever way is best.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training experience has been gained in working with individuals and adolescents in different environments such as Cruse Bereavement in Newbury, secondary school and in private practice.

I am a member of the NCS and I attend regular additional CPD training throughout the year and I adhere to their Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.
