Denis Victor, Fda Integrative Counselling, Registered MBACP
Hello my name is Denis,
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor, I offer short and longer term counselling for adults, young people and students in a safe and confidential environment, . I am based in Taunton-Somerset but I have had people come to see me from Exeter and Devon. I offer both early and late night counselling slots plus weekends appointments on request. I currently work in a private school and in my own private practice.
Counsellors are human and I am no exception – I have daily struggles just like anyone else. After suffering a series of personal challenges some as a child growing up in Uganda-Africa and even more later as adult while living in the UK, I was looking for a new path and change in career. I decided I needed to go to university to study counselling
Prior to becoming a therapist, I trained as a teacher, but also enjoyed a long and successful career both in Uganda and in UK as a youth worker, support worker, music instructor, charity worker and several other roles. I offer counselling and therapy for a wide range of people of different ages, cultural back grounds, races and social backgrounds.
Counselling with me centres around listening to you and supporting you. Counselling can help you gain an understanding of ourselves; how you behave, and how your past experiences effect who you are today. Exploring your thoughts and feelings can help you understand your distress be it with anxiety, depression, phobias, relationship matters or anything else. You will gain empowerment, build confidence and help you deal with the challenges you face.
I don't pass judgement on what you have done (or what you haven't done) and I work with you to get to where you want to be in life.
I am a registered member of the British association of Counselling and Psychotherapy ( BACP). I bide by its code of ethics and professional practice. As a result, I attend regular supervision which further enhances the safety and effectiveness of my work. I have a clean DBS and I am fully covered by Professional Liability Insurance.
Other Services I offer
I can offer mindfulness workshops with music and drumming for various professionals and groups, including education, social care, health care and child care settings amongst others. I can put together a flexible package of support to meet the needs of your team.

Drumming in Therapy Taunton Somerset
Rhythm permeates everyone’s life. It is in everything we do, we see we feel and it is within the circadian rhythm of our bodies as well. Rhythm is a fact of life. I am very passionate about playing drums to improve people’s lives and health . It is well documented and evidenced that drumming accelerates physical healing, boosts the immune system, produces feelings of well-being and releases emotional trauma. I can run sessions for individuals, NHS, Schools or any mental health related groups. I wait to hear from you
