About me

Are you looking for a professional, friendly and experienced counsellor?

At times in our lives we may need support to help us find new ways forward. Together we can work through what you choose to bring to counselling at a pace that suits you. I provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential service to all my clients.

As an experienced Integrative counsellor my approach is to identify what would be of particular therapeutic benefit to you and integrate this into our sessions. I have a sense of humour and am creative, which is reflected in how I work. We work together; side by side and step by step.

I am an Accredited Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in accordance with its Ethical Framework. I am fully insured, DBS Enchanced checked and ICO registered.

I offer both long and short term therapy with adults from the age of 18 and over.

1-hour sessions are £50
90 min sessions are £70
EMDR 90 min sessions are £75

How to get started

When you contact me I will endeavour to respond to you within 48 hours. We can then arrange to speak with one another privately at a convenient time. I offer an initial free 30 minute telephone consultation.

If you decide to go ahead, we can set up a day and time for a session where we can talk about what you would like to get out of counselling. If you are then happy to continue, I will set up a second session and we can arrange to meet weekly or fortnightly.

If you would like a no-obligation conversation at a time to suit you, then please contact me by email at , or call/text 07873 134 069.

Where am I located?

My main office is located in central Bournemouth with close proximity to The Triangle.  There is convenient parking available opposite Clifton House.  I also have availability across three further locations - Highcliffe, Christchurch and Southbourne. Each of these therapy rooms are private and comfortable with parking available.

Training, qualifications & experience

MBACP (Acc), Diploma and Fdsc Person-Centred Counselling, BSc (Hons) Professional Healthcare, EMDR, AngerUK Certified.

My experience working within healthcare and the NHS helps me to understand how the mind and body work together and what happens in health and illness. Initially, I worked as a Registered General Nurse and later as a Counsellor within GP practices. Clients experienced a wide range of issues which included: bereavement, loss and grief, anxiety, panic, stress, depression, mood swings, relationship difficulties, self-harm, addictions, physical and life-limiting illness, low self-esteem, identity, sexuality, abuse, trauma, feelings of being overwhelmed, loneliness, anger and sadness.

I have further experience working with trauma, sexual abuse and rape at the West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre. Many of my clients expressed feelings of stigmatization, powerlessness, guilt and shame and had built up coping mechanisms in order to survive that were no longer helpful.

Additional training includes:  Online counselling, EMDR, CBT, Critical Incident Training, trauma and dissociation, rape and sexual abuse, lifestyle coaching, sexual diversities, mindfulness for well-being, bereavement support, alcohol and drug awareness, developing creative interventions, domestic abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, anger management and positive change. I also am able to provide the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) service, which relates to stress in the workplace.

I have been counselling for ten years.  This has involved working in the NHS, Several Organisations and Charities alongside being a private practitioner which has provided me with a wealth of first-hand experience. Following the tragic Manchester bombing, I was involved in Critical Incident work with individuals and groups.
