Debra Allonby (RegMBACP) Counsellor, Supervisor, Together In Counselling
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, Supervisor and Registered Member of BACP. I have many years of counselling experience. We all experience difficulties at different times in our life that can feel confusing and hard to cope with. Whether you find yourself suffering from anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family issues, separation or divorce, addiction, panic disorders, sexuality issues, post-natal depression, bereavement, affairs and betrayals, eating disorders, self-harm or feeling sad, I aim to help you to find ways to understand your situation and to explore ways to cope, accept or make necessary changes. I am a person-centred, integrative Counsellor, which means I utilise a variety of counselling skills to specifically meet your individual needs. I am friendly and supportive and will offer you complete respect, without any judgement whatsoever. I want you to feel free to discuss whatever you choose in counselling, at your own pace, in a completely relaxed, warm, friendly and supportive environment.
Please telephone, text, or contact me through my website (see all links at top of this page).
I am a friendly, warm, Person-Centred, Integrative counsellor, which means I am person-centred whilst utilising the skills and concepts of CBT, Gestalt or Transactional Analysis where appropriate for you). I will explain my Counselling Service to you, answer any of your questions and then we will complete a counselling contract together, which is very straightforward. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like in order to completely understand the process. We then discuss what has brought you to counselling and how you would like to explore this. Remember these are your sessions and we will work together to find the best way forward for you.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING COUNSELLING
You are free to talk about whatever you choose to at your own pace. I will listen to you carefully and respectfully, never judging, whilst encouraging you to gently explore your issues or situation. This can help you to see things much more clearly, gain understanding and find possible answers to your difficulties. We will work together to help you explore any changes you might wish to make, or simply to find ways of coping with your current situation.
WHAT ABOUT SUPERVISION FOR COUNSELLORS?
As a Counselling Supervisor, I work with you to help you provide the best possible counselling experience for your clients, whilst encouraging your own self-care and self-development. Your continued professional development is important to me and I will offer genuine warmth, kindness, care and compassion, alongside alternative viewpoints where appropriate. I aim to help you to explore any difficulties you may experience in your client work so that we may work together to find alternative answers and ideas. Your aspirations matter and we will work closely together to help you achieve all that you want to. I am experienced in adult, couples and children & young people counselling and I am also a qualified lecturer, trainer, assessor, and verifier. I also hold a certificate in couples and relationship counselling. I am always keen to update my own experience and qualifications and will aim to support you in every way that I possibly can.
