About me

I'm a person-centred therapist with 15 years of considerable experience working with adults and young people who have needed help with issues around loss, bereavement, low self esteem and confidence, survivors of childhood abuse, and issues that arise from this such as anxiety, depression, guilt, dissociation and grief.

You may be unhappy in a relationship, feel lonely or unable to share what you are feeling with partner or family. Maybe you are feeling angry or sad, frustrated or overwhelmed for no reason. Perhaps you often find yourself trying to put a brave face on - "I'm but I am not."

I believe that you are the expert of your world and I am here to listen and help you to explore troubles that are preventing you from moving on with your life. Working with me, you will gain more self confidence and belief in yourself, be able set boundaries and be able to manage your anxiousness and have some control over how you are feeling.

The relationship between counsellor and client is crucial to change occurring and I do my best to ensure that my clients feel safe and accepted enough to explore issues, sometimes for the first time.

First step

The first step is often the hardest; if you decide to contact me, please either call me or send me an email and I will respond to you as soon as possible, within 24 hours if I can.

I offer appointments online with weekly sessions of 50 minutes and I have availability of early evening appointments. We will arrange a mutually convenient time to connect and during that first session we will ensure that we will be able to work together to help you to move on.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
