About me
I offer counselling to anyone over the age of 16 either in person, in my warm and comfortable counselling cabin in Totnes, or online.
What can you expect from a counselling session?
Everyone is different and so is every session, but in general, it's all about exploring your issues or questions to look for ways of coping with the distress caused by them and to find ways of moving forwards. There are many things that can come out of this process - you might be inspired to try different or additional ways to communicate, with better outcomes for your relationships, you might discover tools you can use to help with managing strong emotion, you'll be encouraged to build on and appreciate the strengths you already have or you may find that talking to someone outside your family and friendship group, with skills to listen and support, allows subtle shifts in perspective that bring relief and new ideas.
My style is informal and based on a compassionate approach. It's important to be kind and accepting of ourselves, anyway, but particularly during the counselling process so that we don't lose connection with what we're trying to achieve. I aim to provide a working relationship where trust builds, so that you feel at ease and able to talk through your difficulties in a free and open way.
Please email or call me if you would like to find out more. I look forward to hearing from you.
