About me

Are you concerned about your alcohol or drug use? Have others expressed concerns about your drinking or drug use? Have you taken time off work to recover from a heavy weekend? Maybe you find yourself constantly thinking about alcohol or drugs, focusing on when you can next have a drink or using everyday life as an excuse to use drugs? Has your alcohol use impacted on your ability to do your job or manage your home life? Do you feel your relationships with family and friends has been negatively impacted due to your alcohol or drug use?

Does the thought of giving up alcohol or drugs leave you feeling anxious and apprehensive? Working together we can consider new possibilities, a fresh start and a positive way to move forward. It may feel overwhelming right now, but you are not alone and together we can navigate this journey.

I offer face to face appointments from my therapy room based in the Staffordshire Moorlands or online sessions via Teams. Let’s work together to identify new coping strategies to help you navigate this stage of your life. We can explore ways to improve your life balance and relationships to help you feel more fulfilled.

What you can expect from me:

An introductory call in which we will explore how alcohol or drug use is impacting you and discuss ways we can work together to reach your recovery goals.

One to one sessions where I provide a safe confidential space for you to fully explore alcohol or drug use without fear of judgement.

A better understanding of how drug or alcohol use is impacting you, your life, health and wellbeing, whilst exploring the possible underlying reasons for addiction.

Suggest tools and techniques, based on your individual needs, to support harm reduction and help alleviate any emotional distress you may be experiencing.

You will be supported to develop your own skills tool box to promote the emotional wellbeing needed to stop or reduce drinking or drug use.

We will work together to help build a strong social support network as well as using recognised interventions such as motivational interviewing and solution focused approaches to reach your recovery objectives.

Direction to appropriate resources or services that may suit your needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
