About me and the counselling I offer
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor based in Kingston upon Thames. I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental approach. I believe that the relationship between the counsellor and client is key to the success of the counselling. I recognise that people come to counselling for a variety of reasons - maybe you are experiencing difficulties in your life, or finding it hard to cope and need someone to talk to. You may also feel daunted about reaching out to ask for help and support. I respect that everyone I see is an individual with a different starting point and needs, and will draw on a range of theories and techniques to meet these requirements. I offer all of my clients a safe environment to explore their concerns, with confidentiality underpinning all of our communications.
How I work with you
I agree an initial appointment with you where we focus on your concerns, issues and expectations and discuss how the counselling sessions will work in practice. This is an opportunity for you to find out more, to ask questions about counselling and for us to explore how we might work together. It is important that you feel comfortable with me and that you are clear about what you can expect from counselling sessions.
If we decide to continue with counselling, we will agree on how many sessions will be appropriate. Sometimes this will be a short-term approach, usually a minimum of 6 sessions, but for more deep-rooted issues we would agree a longer term approach. Whatever our agreement, we will review regularly to ensure counselling continues to meet your needs.
Sessions are for 50 minutes.
Training, qualifications & experience
As an integrative counsellor I draw on a range of theories and techniques, including Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Existential and CBT. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and, as such, I work within their ethical framework and guidelines.

As well as seeing clients in my private practice, I also work with older clients (aged 65+) and their families at Staywell (formerly Age Concern Kingston) and with patients, carers and the bereaved at The Mulberry Centre, a cancer support centre attached to West Middlesex Hospital.
