I am a fully qualified counsellor, supervisor and tutor. My approach to counselling is Person Centred with a belief in the uniqueness of the individual, therefore working to understand and support your needs in a non-judgemental and empathetic manner.
At times you may need support around emotional and mental wellbeing. I provide a safe, confidential space which gives you an opportunity to explore the issues that you may find challenging. I have experience of working with issues such as anxiety, depression, identity, relationships, anger, low self esteem, childhood issues, stress and trauma.
I offer short and long term counselling sessions to adults and young people.
I provide counselling supervision with a particular specialism supporting counsellors in training.
I offer face to face sessions and I am based in Cleckheaton close to J26 M62.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained and qualified as a Person Centred Counsellor in 2002 and completed an MA in Counselling in 2005. I undertook my PGCE teaching qualification in 2010 and supervision training in 2013.
My 16 years counselling experience is varied including working in a women's centre, specialist cancer service, drug and alcohol service (supporting both clients and their families) and college counselling service.
Over the past 10 years I have taught and co-ordinated a range of counselling courses with a particular expertise at Diploma level, supporting students through professional qualifications.
I undertake regular continued professional development to meet BACP requirements and enhance my practice. This has included; bereavement, anxiety, sexual abuse, mental health, domestic violence, anger, CBT, Transactional Analysis and ethical practice.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Membership number 542256.

I charge £40 per hour for counselling.
I charge £60 for a 1.5 hour supervision session.
I provide an initial free introductory 30 minute assessment session.
